Our Work

Discipleship & Disciplemaking

Being committed followers of Christ who intentionally invest in others — helping them become disciples who make disciples.

Matthew 28:19–20  ·  2 Timothy 2:2

The Great Commission

Make Disciples, Not Just Converts

Jesus' final command was not to gather crowds — it was to make disciples. Matthew 28:19–20 frames the entire mission of the Church: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

At OA Othniel Ministry, discipleship is not a programme — it is the life we live. Every believer is called to be a disciple and to make disciples. This conviction shapes everything we do: our camp meetings, our podcast, our resources, and our one-to-one relationships.

"And the things you have heard me say… entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others."

How We Disciple

Four Pillars of Disciplemaking

Word

Grounding every disciple in Scripture — reading, studying, and obeying the Word of God.

Prayer

Cultivating a life of prayer — individually and corporately — as the foundation of all ministry.

Community

Doing life together in accountable, loving fellowship that mirrors the early church.

Mission

Sending every disciple to go and make disciples — reproducing the pattern Jesus modelled.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."

Matthew 28:19–20 ESV

This is not a suggestion — it is the defining mandate of every follower of Christ. We are called to reproduce, not merely to attend.

The Model

Intentional, Relational Investment

Our discipleship model follows the pattern Jesus demonstrated — pouring his life into twelve so that they could pour their lives into the world. Intentional: we identify, invite, and invest in people. Relational: discipleship happens in the context of real, honest relationships.

01

Be a disciple

Everything begins with personal surrender and growth in Christ.

02

Find a Paul

Identify a mature believer who can pour into your life and hold you accountable.

03

Find a Timothy

Invest intentionally in someone younger in faith — teach what you have received.

04

Repeat the pattern

Entrust what you receive to faithful others who will teach still others (2 Tim 2:2).
